Mammoth Lakes Trail System

The Mammoth Lakes Trail System offers boundless recreation opportunities on more than 300 miles of trails. From granite crags to trout-stocked lakes, pine forests to alpine meadows, there’s something for all seasons, interests and abilities, motorized and non-motorized alike. Managed jointly by the Town of Mammoth Lakes and the Inyo National Forest, the system includes connections to three wilderness areas, Devils Postpile National Monument, the Pacific Crest Trail and more. A Trail - Groomed Snowmobile Trail 13.2 mi

TThe A Trail is a popular multi-use winter artery, groomed and marked with orange diamonds, that runs north from Shady Rest to Bald Mountain Road through a vast forest of old-growth Jeffrey pines.

Shady Rest Winter Trails 2.9 mi

The Shady Rest Winter Trails are a popular area for locals and visitors to Nordic ski, snowshoe, dog walk or fat bike. Trails are groomed daily, weather permitting.

A short distance from town the Sherwins trailhead offers access to recreation activities year-round. Head out into the trees and meadows for a quick bike, hike or ski right from town.
